"Y’all… I spent the last 18 months wondering if boudoir photos were the right choice for me. I’m a mom of three and those difficult pregnancies wrecked my once collegiate athlete body. I’ve learned to love this new body I’m in, but like any mom - part of me wondered if I was being foolish wanting to parade this old thing around in lingerie. When I found Petra - I absolutely loved that she showed love to every body type. That gave me the push to book with her.
Well, today I did my shoot with her and I couldn’t be happier. She made me feel like a goddess and I had more confidence when I walked into her studio than I’ve had in years. She valued my input, she made me laugh, and we had an amazing time with it all.
I almost don’t even care how the photos turn out (even though I know they’ll be wonderful because PETRA is amazing), because the experience was more than I could have asked for.

Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing a boudoir session?
Fears of being exposed. Fears about my imperfections.
What made you decided to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
Joining the groups and seeing that you showed self love with all body types. I also loved your editing aesthetic.
How did you feel before your session?
Nervous.
How did the session day make you feel?
Like a goddess.
Was the session different from what you expected it to be?
It was so much more relaxed than I anticipated. Everyone was so friendly and we all laughed like we’d known each other for a long time.
Did anything surprise you?
How open you were to my ideas. It made the entire experience special for me.
What would your advice be to other women who haven't booked a boudoir session?
The experience makes the photos feel secondary. Soak up having a great time and make it your own. Petra is willing to let you have a voice in what you want and how you want to see yourself.
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty / sexuality / sensuality / body confidence as a result of this session?
I feel like I’m proud of the body I’m in. I work hard for it. Petra made sure to accentuate the things I love the most about it.
Why would you suggest someone else book a session with Petra Novak Photography?
Because every woman should feel like a goddess and proud of how they look.
What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
This is about you and loving yourself. You don’t have to share this with anyone else. Do it for you.
